As a Royal Ballet Affiliate Teacher, I;

  • Am empowered to have autonomy and make informed decisions about my students’ progress
  • Follow a process-oriented, rather than an achievement-oriented, teaching model
  • Deliver a holistic learning and assessment experience
  • Am given exclusive accreditation and ongoing CPD
  • Have the opportunity to bring The Royal Ballet School ethos and expertise to my students.

The Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme (ATAP) is an innovative programme that gives young dance students a high quality, holistic learning experience that provides an alternative training model to traditional examination syllabi.

Royal Academy of Dance

The RAD syllabus is a well-structured, graded system starting from Pre-Primary through to Advanced 2. This approach ensures that each child learns at a pace suited to their individual ability, with a focus on mastering ballet vocabulary, movements, and enchainments at every level.

Students are assessed by qualified RAD examiners and awarded certificates and badges upon passing their exams. As they progress, students move through the grades, building on their skills in a steady and supportive way.

The RAD approach is designed to cater to both recreational dancers and those who wish to pursue ballet as a professional career. It provides a solid foundation for any dancer starting their ballet journey.
